Economou, Jong Suk Lee, and co-workers investigate the role of in situ defect engineering in tailoring the relationship between structural and textural properties and gas transport behavior, with a focus on cobalt-alkylamine defects in ZIF-67 derivatives. The engineered ZIF-67 derivatives exhibit enhanced rigidity, exceptional dispersibility, and improved water stability, offering industrial advantages and providing deeper insight into how defect engineering influences membrane performance.
